After invasion in `74, the Turkish Army tried to change the Greek character of the village. For this, they settled Turks from Anatolia in Turkey in the houses of the village, gave them the land and the fortunes.

This is a crime of war.

Now, the Turkish Army is selling the land not only of Akanthou, but of other villages as well, to foreign companies, which they develop in tourist blocks and apartments. They promote them as great and special offers to buyers, giving wrong information. The Turkish illegal `owners` sell the fortunes of the Greek occupied villages to foreign companies, at very attractive prices, and promising a life of paradise.

The buyers, without knowing the great dangers they get into, they participate in illegal actions, because they cooperate with illegal `authorities` and with an unrecognized state.

This complex is advertised in several Turkish websites. It’s now being built by the Santa Fe Construction, in a Greek-Cypriot fortune; the owners of the land are refugees in their own homeland. They have never sold their land. They have never accepted other land in the free areas of Cyprus, in order to change it with. They have never done any of the agreement nor negotiation with the invaders.

Instead, they strongly fight to return to their homeland.
Any cooperation, either with the Santa Fe Company or with any other company which is activated in the occupied areas of Cyprus is a great violation of the law…
